Discernment

Almight and everliving God, let your fatherly hand ever be over these your servants; let your Holy Spirit ever be with them; and so lead them in the knowledge and obedience of your Word, that they may serve you in this life, and dwell with you in the life to come; through Jesus Christ or Lord.  Amen

Discernment is sorting out the voice of God from all the other voices that call to us.  It is learning to pay attention to the direction of the Holy Spirit.  Discernment is not only for those thinking about a call to ordained ministry, but is for all people who desire clarity about God's call in their daily lives.   We all have the opportunity to hear where God is calling us.
