DAUGHTERS OF THE KING RETREAT
Scheduled for Nov. 10-12

 Need some 'oomph' in your spiritual life? Feeling spiritually 'dry'? Finding it hard to take time to pray? Overwhelmed by life's busyness?
 
TIME IN RETREAT is what you need. The Order of the Daughters of the King are sponsoring a retreat at the Augustine Center in Conway, MI (near Petoskey) from Nov. 10-12 (begins Friday at 6pm through Sunday lunch). You do not have to be an Episcopalian, or a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King to attend.
 
Sessions will include:
  • Spiritual Direction: What is It? (with Elizabeth Tompkins)
  • Life Transitions and Prayer (with Elizabeth Tompkins)
  • Taize: Musica as Prayer (with Marilyn Johnson)
  • Prayer (with Bishop Gepert)

Epiphany Pageants Available
Henry L. Fulton of St. John's, Mt. Pleasant, has written five Epiphany Pageants (one-act plays) suitable for sanctuary performance. "Cuthbert's Visitor's," - comic; "Ludus Animalorum" ('Play of the Animals') - comic;  "Star of Fallujah" - tragic have all been published by Leader Resources and are available from them at www.leaderresources.org  (1-800-941-2218).  Two others, "This Dull Devonshire," - comic; "The Visitations of Mary" - Comic; are available directly from the author at fulto1hl@cmich.edu or 989-773-7193.

    Certification Workshop

Have all of your people working with children and youth been certified in Safeguarding God’s Children?  Our Diocesan policies state that those working with children and youth in parishes and on the Diocesan level must be certified within 6 months of hire.  This includes both paid and volunteer – people teaching Sunday school, youth group mentors and those serving in the nursery.
