Fish, the Rev. Kurt M.
Kalamazoo, MI

Died Sunday morning, May 21, 2006. Fr. Kurt, a resident of the Kalamazoo area since 1994 was born November 20, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio a son of Wilbur and Mary (Miller) Fish. Father Fish was a priest of the diocese since his ordination on June 16, 1958. He served parishes in Newaygo, Sparta, Elk Rapids and Orangeville and for many years was the director of the diocesan youth program and Episcopal Youth Camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by 5 children, Christopher (Mary) Fish of Kalamazoo, Mary (Eric) Odmark of Nunica, MI, Tim (Julie) Fish of Kalamazoo, Gregory (Cris) Fish of Hastings, MI and Annie Fish of Paw Paw; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Father Fish. If you would like to make a donation please make checks payable to: Youth Fund - Diocese of West MI. A celebration of Kurt’s life will take place on Friday, June 2nd at 7:30pm at Battle Creek Outdoor Educational Center; the former Episcopal Youth Camp site. The Camp is located at: 10160 Bedford Rd. in Dowling MI 49050. Casual Camp attire.

Two Artists from St. Mark's in Coldwater
to be Featured in an Exhibition of Images at General Convention in Columbus, OH


Two artists from St. Mark's, Coldwater, are among those selected by the Episcopal Church and the Visual Arts (ECVA), for Visual Preludes - an exhibition of projected images for worship services at General Convention 2006 in Columbus, Ohio, June 13-21. Well over 500 images were submitted, and final selections have just been announced. These include 3 icon images from Anne Pinkerton Davidson, "Jesus Christ, Pantocrator", "Mother of God - the Sign", and "Mother of God - Vatopedi", and one photograph of a theatrical set design by Robin Ellis, entitled "Books and Wings".

This will be a listening session for the General Convention Deputies to allow any member of the Diocese to share their thoughts on issues pertinent to the upcoming General Convention. The Deputation welcomes your thoughts as they continue on their listening, reading and learning journey.
