  • The Bishop Whittemore Foundation was established in 1952 by the Rt. Rev. Lewis Bliss Whittemore and other concerned and dedicate Christians for the purpose of making grants and loans to parishes and organizations affliated with the Diocese of Western Michigan, including the Diocese itself in its programmatic needs.

The first Sunday of May is Bishop Whittemore Sunday - an annual event that promotes the generous work of the foundation. Flyers promoting this event have been mailed to parishes around the diocese - and we also have one available for download from our website: CLICK HERE
