D.R.E.A.M. is a project of the three lower peninsula Episcopal dioceses in Michigan, in conjunction with our companion of the Dominican Republic. Now that the Church of San Simón has been completed, the collaboration is switching to a nearby village. The village of Mosovi has no potable water. The new project plans to bring a well to Mosovi and perhaps restore an empty clinic for medical mission.

We invite you to learn more about this important effort by visiting the project D.RE.A.M. website. (Click here now) You'll find photos, news updates, forms, FAQs and much more. Our EDWM representative on the project is Deacon Beth Drew. If you live in West Michigan, we invite you to contact Deacon Beth Drew to learn more. Phone: (269) 244-9908 (Send Beth an e-mail)

2017 Dominican Republic Mission Teams

The focus of the trip June 17-24, 2017 will be to help the communities of Mosovi and San Simón. We have been able to assist with construction of a new church, repair on existing structures, painting, Bible School, and contributing to the water project in Mosovi.  Our 2017 trip will continue the finishing touches on bringing potable water to the Mosovi community and also to return to San Simón to repair flood damage to the perimeter wall that occurred during recent flooding.
June 17-24, 2016

The Dedication of San Simon

Bishop Hougland attended the dedication and consecration of Iglesia Episcopal San Simón Apóstol in Puerto Plata on July 18, 2015. This new church was built over a 4-5 year period by many mission teams from the Diocese of Eastern Michigan, Michigan, and Western Michigan. The church was completed but mission teams continue to repair flood damage as part of the annual Dominican Republic Mission Trip, as well as work on a project to bring potable water to te village of Mosovi. We have built long lasting friendships with our Dominican brothers and sisters as well as our fellow missioners from the Dioceses of Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
