Everyone is invited to attend Convention as delegates, visitors or guests. Official "visitors" and delegates must register and they will receive a packet of information. Click here to see more info about visitors. Guests may attend at no cost, but they will not receive any paperwork. People are especially invited to attend for the keynote speaker "Peter K" and the Eucharist. Any who would like to eat must fill out a meal form. Click here for information about meals.

We have display exhibits from people in the Diocese and those outside. Diocesan Committees are invited free of charge. Non-profit groups outside the Diocese are charge $25 for tables and Commercial Organizations are charge $50. Spots do fill up, so please send your Display Application as soon as possible.

keynote speaker: Peter K Peter K was the keynote speaker at the Episcopal Church Medical Trust health conference held in the spring of 2008. He was also a presenter at the Episcopal Business Administrator's Conference held in the fall of that year. We are very blessed to receive such an inspirational leader in the field of fitness and nutrition. He will give us tools that we can bring back to our lives and share with the people in the pews of our parishes. Peter K, MS, PT is a Fit Lifestyle Expert, Speaker, Author, Health Coach, Nutritionist, Physical Therapist, College Professor and Creator of “5 Minutes to Fitness+”, Blogtalkradio’s Fitness Director and host of The Peter K Show, He is a health and fitness expert for the media, including ABC, TLC, Fitness Magazine, Blogtalkradio and MSN Lifestyle. |

Convention Chaplain: The Rev. Jean Denton Jean Denton has been active in health ministry and parish nursing for 15 years. Drawing on her background in medical-surgical nursing, community health, teaching, and administration, she began serving as the full-time Director of Health Ministries at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Indianapolis in 1989. She co-chaired the national task force that incorporated Health Ministries Association, and served as its first vice president. She is a contributing author to Education for Parish Nursing (the curriculum endorsed by the International Parish Nurse Resource Center), is one of five nurses who developed Standards of Practice for Parish Nursing (published by the American Nurses Association in cooperation with Health Ministries Association), contributed to Guidelines for Healing Touch in Churches published by Healing Touch International, and compiled and edited Good is the Flesh: Body, Soul, and Christian Faith (Morehouse Publishing, 2005). Ordained to the Vocational Diaconate in 1992 and to the Priesthood in 2005, Jean has served as the Director of National Episcopal Health Ministries. Currently she is Senior Associate Rector of St. Paul’s, Indianapolis. She has written the booklet An Episcopalian Answers Questions about Health Ministries and Parish Nursing, and the manual Steps to a Health Ministry in Your Episcopal Congregation. She helped develop and now teaches the health component of CREDO, the clergy wellness program of the Episcopal Church.
Jean is the mother of two adult children, and lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Tom Barnes. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and fabric art. |

Preacher at the Convention Eucharist: The Rev. Laurel Dahill The Rev. Laurel was invited by Bishop Gepert to preach at the convention Eucharist - and preach she did! When was the last time you heard applause ring out after a sermon in an Episcopal Church? Laurel serves as rector of St. Andrew's in Big Rapids (click here to view website), where you can hear her preach on most Sundays. |

Registrations for Diocesan Convention are due April 1. Each person attending must send in a completed form (one person per form, please!). The registration fees are $50.00 for clergy, delegates and alternates. Guests (including spouses) attending will only need to pay $30.00.
