To the People of the Diocese of Western Michigan,

The Standing Committee has concurred with the Bishop that September, October and November, 2008, will serve as his sabbatical time.  August, 2008, will be his vacation month.  He will retain ecclesiastical authority during his sabbatical, and he and the staff are preparing for his time away.
